Project creation errors TF400324 and TF200038

Team Foundation Server > Team Foundation Server 2015
Note: The information in this article applies to Team Foundation Server 2015.

SYMPTOM

When you attempt to create a new Team Project, the following error is returned by the server:
 
TF400324: Team Foundation services are not available from the server. 
Technical information (for administrator):
TF200038: You cannot create a team project with your version of Team Explorer. Contact your system administrator to determine how to upgrade your Team Explorer client to the version compatible with Team Foundation Server.

CAUSE

The error occurs because the client application is not one of the qualifying Visual Studio 2015 products. You cannot use previous versions of Visual Studio to create a new Team Project on a Team Foundation Server 2015 server.

RESOLUTION

You will need to connect to the server using Visual Studio 2015, Visual Studio Express 2015 or Visual Studio Community 2015.
